Contribute funds to help pay for the construction of a kitchen and dining room for the Children’s Home.
The Children’s home was started by Jacinta Njoroge Lahti in 2000. She began by offering a home to 8 orphans whose parents had died in HIV/AIDS. This has now become the home to nearly 40 children. Since 2002, children from the village have been invited to participate in the pre-school program and in 2006, the Phyllis Memorial Academy was opened. Four teachers were hired to teach classes 1-4, which meant that the youngest children would no longer have to travel to the already overextended village school. However the home & village depend on the collection of seasonal rain water and, at other times of the year, water collected by donkey from a river that is 40km from the village.
